Megan Cronin Larson
[psychotherapy, parent coaching + play therapy]
I offer individual psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and teens that are experiencing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, relational, and academic difficulties. With younger children, I utilize play therapy, as play is the language that children use to communicate, learn, and grow.
Play therapy can help children deal with any kind of stress–academic challenges, social or sibling problems, anxiety or self-regulation. It gives the child a consistent, safe place to learn more about their own mind, their feelings and reactions.
Creating awareness for children around their thoughts & emotions is profound. The ability to help children learn to walk though life attached to one’s self, owning their own authentic strengths and challenges is a true gift.
I continue to be amazed at the connections Synergetic Play Therapy has on the brain, mind, body and behavior. The growth and transformation seen in my clients continues to inspire me in this work. The ability to help a child learn how to regulate his or her own nervous system, positively influencing their development across their lifetime is something I find exciting and remarkable.
My mission is to find helpful strategies, interventions and recommendations to bridge the gap for children between home, school and therapy. This additional awareness helps us to identify challenges and problem solve further, supporting the child on a more holistic level. My goal is also to guide you to find a natural ability and ease in your parenting experiences to help not just your child but you.
