Jennifer is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist in Boulder who works with infants, children, and adults. She enjoys helping individuals discover their own body's innate ability to heal. She is passionate about helping people find natural ways to heal their imbalances through acupuncture, herbs, diet, exercise, and life-style changes.
Pediatric Acupuncture (Shonishin) Jennifer loves treating children, and Shonishin makes this both painless and fun. Sho-ni-shin is a needle-free way of treating infants and children for such illnesses as common colds, coughs, sore throats, asthma, chronic earaches, bed-wetting, insomnia, as well as behavioral and emotional challenges. Small metal tools stimulate the channels and acupuncture points without breaking the skin. Children respond quite quickly to acupuncture and pediatric herbal formulas. Regular Shonishin treatments are a great way to boost a weak immune system in order to avoid the use of antibiotics and keep kids healthy and thriving. Trauma and anxiety Acupuncture is wonderful at treating stress and anxiety. Many individuals have the desire to either not use medications or to get off of them. Acupuncture can help regulate the body’s chemical balance naturally, with noticeable changes often after just one treatment. Acupuncture, when combined with psychotherapy, will often accelerate healing due to ones ability to handle and process intense emotions much easier. Pregnancy and fertility Along with kids, Jennifer also enjoys treating moms-to-be. Acupuncture can greatly increase the likelihood of becoming pregnant. Studies show that IVF in conjunction with regular acupuncture increases success rate by 40%-60%! Regular acupuncture throughout a pregnancy can ease some of the common symptoms of nausea, low back pain, and sleep disturbances, as well as prepare the body for the act of giving birth. Professional experience: Jennifer is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Colorado, and is NCCAOM certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology. Jen also completed a program of study in acupuncture and internal medicine at the China-Japan Friendship Hospital in Beijing, China. She completed an intensive pediatric and OB/GYN workshop in Bali in 2011, attending classes, as well as treating many local mothers and children in a community clinic setting. In 2012, Jennifer traveled to India to continue her studies in pediatrics and women's health while treating Tibetan refugees and children. Services in Boulder:
